Window Shopping On A Greek Island…

During my holidays on a Greek island this summer, I noticed this extraordinary window decoration in a sunglasses shop. We started walking after a wonderful meal by the sea, towards the center of the town of Syros and for a moment we were puzzled . We weren’t sure what we were looking at!

After laughing and dissing on it a bit, we immediately checked every angle of the windows to check all this Barbie dolls “positions”. Maybe it’s not dirty and  we just think dirty  all right? Well, this guy who had the idea and applied it wonderfully, looked really cool and normal. I got to say in the end I realised this idea is pure genious and original.

Strong enough to capture the eye and  therefore our attention!

Perseid Meteor Shower

meteor shower

Perseid meteor shower is an annual meteor shower that is extremely regular in its timing and can potentially be visible for weeks in the late summer sky, depending on weather and location. The Perseid meteor shower is named after the constellation Perseus, which is located in roughly the same point of the night sky where the Perseid meteor shower appears to originate from. The Perseid meteor shower is much more visible in the Northern hemisphere. The meteors are certainly bright, but they are actually only tiny objects, usually no more than a grain of sand. They travel at speeds of 71 kilometers per second, however, which helps these small particles put on such a brilliant show year after year. Today, the best place to observe the Perseid meteor shower (or any meteor shower for that matter), is somewhere dark, away from light pollution, and with the moon out of the field of vision. The less light visible, the more brilliant the meteor shower will be.

Mojito Recipe

– 1 1/2 oz light rum
– 1 tbs superfine sugar
– Lime wedges
– Club soda
– Mint sprigs

Muddle mint leaves, superfine sugar and lime in a mixing glass. Add 1 1/2 oz light rum and ice in a cocktail shaker and shake. Strain the mixture into a  glass and top with club soda. Garnish with fresh mint sprig. Sugarcane syrup can be used to replace superfine sugar.

I sometimes use tonic water instead of sugar and club soda.
